In order to flesh out the world more, we decided on coming up with a name. We wanted to use a name that seemed foreign yet familiar in other ways. We settled on the Spanish DESOLADO, which means desolate, this name fit our vision extremely well. For week 4, we had to apply what we learned about tone to our world building work. Using tone is great as it allows depth to come through in the concepts. Here are some tonal thumbnails. These tonal thumbnails allowed me to show how light reacted with the world, and by showing shadows of big objects I could give a greater sense of scale. These are my outcomes from my tonal thumbnails, I feel that I was able to capture the loneliness that the wasteland brings with it and in the second image especially the sense of scale of the desert and ruins.
