We had to create an animatic, we made a shot list for a single narrative and each member in the team drew up a storyboard, this would allow us to lift different ideas from each member's unique style.
This is the shot list we made, we wanted to evoke a documentary style, we did this with a continuous long take that takes the viewer through the lands.
Here is my storyboard
I feel like I captured the camera movement accurately, I made sure to only colour important objects within the scene such as the animals or the ink as they would be the dynamic objects. I used some ideas from my concepts like the forrest tunnel.
After making the storyboards, the group got together and we decided to do a group animatic. This would have each member create a portion of the animatic and another person would edit it together. We assigned Matthew Atkinson to editing and the rest of the group would create the animatic frames within Photoshop.
From the shot list I had to draw shots 7-9 and I also created the sound (sound creation in another blog post) . Once everyone had made their shots, Matthew compiled them together in Adobe Premiere, edited it with the sound and exported the final product.
Here is the animatic. My shots are between 00:24 and 00:41
